I bought my mare Amarni as a 4-year-old when she was still quite green, with only a handful of rides under her belt. Despite her inexperience, she had a willing attitude and a natural athleticism that immediately caught my eye. My goal for her is to become a well-rounded all-rounder, but with a strong focus on show jumping and eventing. From the beginning, I knew she had the potential to excel with the right training, and I’ve been taking the time to build her confidence, strength, and skills in a variety of disciplines. As we progress, I’m excited to see her develop into a brave, capable, and versatile partner, ready to take on whatever challenges come our way.
Show Jumping
Amarni is still very much in the learning stages of her show jumping journey, but she makes me proud every time we step out of the ring. While we haven’t had a clear round yet, she improves with every outing, gaining more confidence and understanding of the job. She’s still figuring out her stride, balance, and technique, but her willingness to try and her positive attitude make every ride a rewarding experience.
To help her build confidence, we’ve decided to drop the heights down for now, giving her a chance to develop a more solid foundation without the added pressure. It’s all about setting her up for success, allowing her to find her rhythm and enjoy the process. I know the clear rounds will come in time, and for now, I’m just grateful for the small wins—whether it’s a smoother approach, a better takeoff, or simply coming out of the ring with a few jumps cleared and a happy horse.
Amarnis Achievements
Ever since I can remember, I have dreamed of becoming a brand ambassador, and now that dream has become a reality! Amarnis and I are proud to represent the amazing brand Hampton and Harlow Equestrian, and it feels incredible to be part of something so special. On top of that, we recently achieved an incredible milestone by winning Champion in Hacking at our local Milton Show, a moment that truly showcased our hard work and dedication. I couldn’t be more excited to see what the future holds for us—this is just the beginning of our journey, and I can’t wait to see what else we accomplish together!
